Job Description

At UPMC Enterprises, we build companies by partnering with existing health care technology companies to accelerate their growth (acceleration) or by developing new products (de novo). Our Strategy and Business Development teams are central to this development, and as a Strategy and Business Development Summer Associate, students must be comfortable in a dynamic role where they are able to bridge cross-functional disciplines while balancing business, technical, and design constraints to help their team bring a product to market. As a UPMC Enterprises Summer Associate, you will have an opportunity to participate in a highly competitive, full-time, in-office 8-12 week paid summer internship program with an organization that's committed to finding solutions to the complicated challenges facing health care providers and their patients. Our work is about using creativity to tackle exciting projects that become life-changing products. Responsibilities: + Researching and producing deliverables around market trends, dynamics, and competitive landscape + Developing a framework for opportunity evaluation within the market and exploring strategy across various functional departments; including engineering, design, marketing, and finance teams + Generating hypothesis on how UPMC should approach a market from an internal and external perspective + Discovers and explores potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials + Identifying and evaluating target inbound opportunities for investment + Engaging UPMC stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to define unmet needs and value opportunity + Communicates activities, statues, issues, and accomplishments to senior leadership and partners As an organization dedicated to Life Changing Medicine, UPMC has defined a bold mission: to shape the future of health care through innovation. It's not just about the work we do, but how we do it. + Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, or Master of Public Health 1st year students with December 2026 - May 2027 anticipated graduation date. + Prior experience in product management, healthcare management, or software engineering or design a plus + Experience with data products and/or customer-facing data science services preferred. + Availability to participate in the Summer Associate Program full time, from June to August 2026 for approximately 8-12 weeks with minimal absence. + A cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 is strongly preferred, and preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated leadership ability through their studies, employment, or extracurricular activities. + Candidates who demonstrate an interest in establishing a post-graduation residence in the Greater Pittsburgh area.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
