We have an East Memphis client who is searching for a Paralegal with estate planning and probate experience.
Job Description:
Assisting attorneys with trust and probate administration, including meeting with clients, trustees and family members; communicating with beneficiaries; drafting correspondence, Excel spreadsheets and probate pleadings; reviewing bank statements; preparing annual accountings; and organizing and maintaining client files.
1. Provide administrative support to lawyers by maintaining calendars and communicating with clients and other parties involved in legal proceedings
2. Communicating with the court or other government agencies regarding the status of a case
3. Reviewing documents and titles to determine ownership of assets and interests in property
4. Coordinating with the personal representative and other attorneys in the case to ensure that all deadlines are met
5. Reviewing financial documents such as bank statements, court records, and probate records to verify accuracy and identify issues
6. Collecting information about an estate from beneficiaries and other interested parties
7. Managing accounts and paying bills on behalf of the estate, conservatorship, or guardianship.
