About ABRAMS :

Founded in 1949, ABRAMS is the first U.S. company to specialize in publishing art and illustrated books. We continue to publish critically acclaimed and bestselling works across a wide range of genres, including art, photography, cooking, design, entertainment, and children's books. We are passionate about creating beautifully designed books with the highest production values, under our various imprints, including Abrams, Abrams ComicArts, and more.

If you’re looking to gain hands-on experience at a leading publisher where creativity, collaboration, and storytelling come to life, ABRAMS may be the perfect place to start your career journey. As the first U.S. publisher dedicated to art and illustrated books—and an industry leader in visual and narrative publishing—ABRAMS is seeking a Human Resources Intern to join our Human Resources team as part of our Internship Program.

Over the course of this immersive, unpaid program (offered for academic credit only) , interns will gain meaningful insight into the world of book publishing while contributing to real projects that drive our business forward. You’ll learn alongside experienced professionals, develop practical skills in your area of interest, and participate in opportunities designed to broaden your understanding of the publishing industry. Our goal is to help prepare the next generation of publishing talent while fostering a passion for books, art, and culture.

At ABRAMS, we value creativity, inclusion, and the power of storytelling—and we are excited to welcome students who are eager to learn and contribute to our mission.

We are offering a college credit-based internship opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Human Resources Intern to join our team. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience

  • Learning and networking with ABRAMS employees, publishing professionals, and fellow interns during a summer internship experience for academic credit
  • Gaining hands-on exposure to the publishing industry, from concept to finished product
  • Supporting research, project work, and day-to-day tasks within your assigned department
  • Contributing ideas and providing creative input on department projects
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams and learning about various areas of the publishing business
  • Participating in workshops and discussions designed to deepen your understanding of publishing trends and processes
  • Receiving coaching, mentorship, and feedback from experienced ABRAMS professionals
  • Assist the HR team with recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate sourcing, and applicant screening.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials.
  • Assist in maintaining employee records and updating HR databases.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, including employee engagement programs
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, such as organizing files, scheduling meetings, and preparing documents.
  • Assist with other HR tasks and projects as needed

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • An undergraduate or graduate education with an anticipated graduation date in 2026 or 2027
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and hungry to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program, majoring in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in human resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous HR experience or coursework is preferred but not required.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Prior internship experience

Internship Details:

  • Duration: Sept 8th – December 19th (Fall 2025)
  • 20 Hours per week
