Fitter/Welder – 1st Shift

Location: Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin

Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Pay Rate: $24–$28/hour (based on weld test results)

Position Overview

We’re hiring a Fitter/Welder with strong fitting and flux core welding experience to work on Architecturally Exposed Structural Steel (AESS) . Welds and assemblies must meet AWS D1.1 standards for both strength and appearance. Candidates do not need AWS certification at hire , as the company provides support for certification and training if required. This role emphasizes craftsmanship, attention to detail, and collaboration in a production-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and bills of material.
• Perform fit-up and flux core welding on structural steel assemblies.
• Inspect and verify welds and assemblies for alignment, quality, and compliance with AWS and AESS standards.
• Design, build, and use fixtures or jigs as needed for fabrication.
• Operate fabrication equipment safely, including saws, drill presses, forklifts, and cranes.
• Assist in training other team members and support safe work practices.
• Participate in post-start welding assessments and apply feedback to meet company standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in structural steel fitting and flux core welding .
• Familiarity with structural welding standards (AWS D1.1).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, weld symbols, and bills of material.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-oriented.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive standing, bending, and movement.
