JOB TITLE: Chief Wastewater Treatment Technician

Location: Littleton, MA

Duration: Direct Hire

Salary: $130,000 base + 20% annual bonus

Relocation: Available for qualified candidates

Shift: Monday – Friday (with weekend availability as needed)

Supervision: Oversees 2–3 hourly wastewater treatment employees

Job Summary:

Top Prospect Group is seeking a Chief Wastewater Treatment Technician to lead all wastewater operations at our Ayers, MA facility. This leadership role is responsible for managing day-to-day treatment activities, supervising hourly team members, and ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of hands-on wastewater treatment experience and a strong mechanical background.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all wastewater treatment systems and pump stations
• Perform required sampling, testing, and reporting to meet Federal, State, and Local compliance
• Oversee stormwater and sludge processing systems
• Supervise a team of 2–3 hourly wastewater technicians, providing daily direction and support
• Install and inspect new sewer lines and related services
• Manage routine and emergency maintenance of equipment and infrastructure
• Respond to off-hours breakdowns or alarms when needed
• Maintain clear and accurate logs, test records, and system performance documentation
• Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies regarding food safety, GMPs, and environmental controls
• Make recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or process improvements
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of wastewater treatment plant experience (municipal or industrial)
• Demonstrated knowledge of wastewater plant operations, systems, and troubleshooting
• Strong mechanical skills with pumps, valves, and treatment equipment
• Knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance standards, and reporting practices
• Basic knowledge of preventative maintenance and repair techniques
• Excellent record-keeping, communication, and problem-solving skills

Licensing:

• Grade 6-C Full Wastewater Treatment Operator License required (MA)
• If licensed in another state, employer will pay for transfer/licensing to MA Grade 6-C

Work Environment:

This role operates within a beverage manufacturing environment. Work includes both indoor and outdoor activities, and strict adherence to safety and environmental standards is required. Some weekend or emergency call-in work may be necessary.
