Our passionate and dedicated team at Sonoma-Cutrer Vineyards is looking for a Tractor Driver Technician I to join the team. The Tractor Driver Technician I is responsible for planting and maintenance of vineyards, which involves preparing the soil, erecting trellis and irrigation equipment, and planting. Performs routine tasks on a vineyard such as cultivating and fertilizing soil, planting, training, and pruning vines, and picking grapes.

What we will ask you to do:

• Operating wheeled tractors to perform tasks such as chopping & mowing, hedging, pre-pruning, disking, standard cultivation, spraying/dusting, harvesting, leaf removal, under-vine cultivation, and placing implements on tractors & equipment.
• Able to operate irrigation pumps.
• Support frost control.
• Safe operation of forklift
• Calibrating of cultivation equipment in the field in conjunction with the vineyard manager and spraying and dusting for application of various chemicals, which includes all aspects of the task: mixing load, filling sprayer/duster, being safety conscious of drift during the application, and cleaning of sprayer/duster.
• Performing daily equipment checks and some light mechanic skills are required .
• During winter months, the driver may be required to assist in the maintenance and/or work with the hand crew.
• The schedule varies, up to 6 days per week/10 hours a day, & may require seasonal night work & extended hours during harvest.
• Mentor less experienced Tractor Drivers

What you will need:

• Demonstrated ability to follow directions as given by supervisor and work under limited supervision.
• Proactive communication with supervisors, mechanics, and vineyard technicians
• Basic knowledge of vineyard maintenance cycles, such as pruning, harvesting, planting, leafing, tying, thinning, trellis repair, etc
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality, work effectively in a team/crew environment,
• adherence to all safety regulations, quality, and operating procedures.
• It is necessary to be able to work late at night and early in the morning in order to facilitate the application of materials to plants.
• Capability to operate in all outdoor weather conditions and temperatures necessitates the ability to ascend and descend.
• Frequently, equipment is used to perform a variety of duties, including bending, lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs.
• Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.

• The hourly pay range for this position is $18.02 - $21.51

Normally 40 hours a week M-F. 50 hours a week during the growing season. Night shifts intermitently during the growing season and harvest. Some weekend work required.
