Position Summary The laboratory is looking for a highly motivated scientist to join a growing basic science laboratory that studies how immune responses to infection affect the developing brain. The project studies mouse models of congenital viral infection with 2 goals: 1) to discover mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental impairments due to congenital infection; and 2) to directly facilitate development of therapeutics to improve outcomes in affected children. Techniques commonly used in this lab include PCR, histology/immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Designs research protocols. Assists in developing and conducting research projects, including experiment design, data analysis and documentation of experiment results.
