The firm also maintains a pioneering public interest practice focused on gender and racial equity, reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, religious freedom, democracy protection, and immigrants’ rights.

  • Prepare for depositions, conferences, and hearings, including compiling documents and logistical details.
  • Attend and prepare for trials: manage trial exhibits, courtroom documents, remote trial office setup, and vendor coordination.
  • Conduct substantive factual research, document analysis, interviews, and chronologies.
  • Organize and maintain case files, overseeing both hard copy and electronic management systems.
  • Collaborate with the eDiscovery and Litigation Support Department, utilizing databases and eDiscovery solutions.
  • Assist in drafting motion papers, correspondence, and other documents including fact checking and formatting.

  • Assist in training and mentoring junior case managers, contributing to the Case Manager Training Curriculum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5+ years’ litigation paralegal experience.
  • Trial experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new technology tools.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ownership of projects, initiative, and ability to work both independently and in teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and after hours as needed.
  • Commitment to confidentiality in handling sensitive firm and client matters.
  • Passion for civil rights and public interest law, with motivation to support the firm’s mission.

The successful candidate will be based in the Washington, D.C. area (or willing to relocate) and available to work 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigation professional seeking a role with purpose in a highly regarded law firm environment.
