As a Security Officer - Armed Corrections Driver in Clearwater, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Corrections, and more.

As an Armed Patrol Officer in a corrections environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain order. This driving and armed position involves conducting routine patrols, remaining visible, and responding to incidents with professionalism. You will interact with staff and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out security-related procedures and site-specific policies in a corrections environment while providing customer service to clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols within the facility and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or breaches.
  • Monitor and control access points, verifying identification and authorization of individuals entering or exiting the location.
  • Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or security-related concerns according to established protocols.
  • Participate in emergency response activities as needed, following Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
  • Collaborate with facility personnel and local authorities as required to address incidents and maintain order within the corrections setting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Must be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or have equivalent experience.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Must provide proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military, or corrections.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
