ANNOUNCEMENT

Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for the Certified Nurse Assistant program. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Part-time/adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching the objectives of the course assigned, assessing student learning, and reporting student progress as required by the college and the Higher Learning Commission.


QUALIFICATIONS

1. Registered Nurse (RN) with current Illinois license.
2. Professional experience, a minimum of two (2) years required, one of the two years must be in a nursing home or hands on care of elderly such as a swing bed at a hospital.
3. Must have completed Illinois Department of Public Health sponsored "Train the Trainer" class within the last 5 years.
4. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers, applicable software, and Internet preferred.

STARTING PAY AND HOURS

Salary varies based on educational level and number of units taught.

WORK LOCATION

CNA courses are offered at the SWIC Red Bud Campus, Sam Wolf Granite City Campus and/or Belleville Campus with clinical portion at nursing homes within the district.
