Randstad is seeking an experienced Molecular Biologist with a background in DNA manipulations and lab automation. As the successful candidate, you will work with a dynamic team in support of product development in plant biotechnology. This is a fully onsite position, located in St. Louis, MO. Local candidates are highly desired as relocation cost reimbursement is not available for this position.

salary: $31 - $33.5 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Basic molecular skills: DNA preps, digests, ligations, electroporation, DNA transformations, PCR
• Follow DNA cloning instructions with oversight from lab personnel
• Potential to design and troubleshoot alternative cloning approaches
• High-throughput DNA cloning reactions
• Works methodically and with attention to detail
• Ability to learn automation programs routine to streamline workflows
• Troubleshoot automation errors with guidance
• Manage inventory and ordering of laboratory consumables as well as maintain organization of workspaces
• Ensure compliance with safety and waste disposal protocols and represent the team in company-wide initiatives
• Laboratory support in compliance with ISO 9001 and Safety standards

Must Haves:

• BS with 1-3 years' experience in molecular biology. Non-degreed with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Broad understanding of instrumentation and scientific principles related to molecular biology.
• Ability to learn quickly and be coached in new techniques and processes.
• Ability to assist in experimental design and participate in moderate to extensive problem-solving that requires original thought.
• Works independently with minimal supervision, while still seeking guidance when necessary.
