Responsibilities Drive personal vehicle (or other accommodations made) to client facilities, mostly nursing homes, as directed by dispatch or supervisor. Follow established phlebotomy procedures for blood sample collection. Identify patients accurately according to policy before drawing blood. Properly label specimens, complete requisitions, and ensure proper transport of samples. Transport PHI following policy. Plan and organize draw schedule prioritizing patients. Maintain accurate logs, time sheets, and records. Coordinate with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments. Maintain equipment and report issues immediately. Answer company mobile device promptly when on duty and stay available for work. Notify dispatch of availability for future assignments. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Current clinical licensure if required by state. Knowledge of medical terminology related to lab procedures. Proficiency in venipuncture, tourniquet use/removal, and site decontamination. Understanding of specimen preservation and patient preparation. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Access to a vehicle in good condition. Good driving record. Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records. Understanding of patient rights and ability to obtain blood under various conditions. Proficient in English (written and verbal). Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and conduct oneself professionally.
