Job Description

Are you passionate about helping athletes thrive—on and off the field? Do you bring both clinical expertise and a drive to optimize performance through mental skills training?

Premier Sport Psychology is looking for a Licensed Athletic Counselor to join our dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you'll work directly with athletes, coaches, and teams to support both mental health and performance goals—blending traditional counseling with cutting-edge sport psychology tools.

What You’ll Do

As a Licensed Athletic Counselor, you will:

  • Provide individual counseling and mental performance services to athletes of all ages and competitive levels
  • Collaborate with our in-house team of psychologists and mental performance consultants
  • Design and deliver workshops, presentations, and group sessions for teams, coaches, and staff
  • Partner with medical and training professionals to integrate mental skills into overall performance plans
  • Apply tools like mindfulness, emotional regulation, focus, imagery, and confidence training
  • Provide crisis intervention support when needed
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with referral sources
  • Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and uphold licensing standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Minnesota (LP, LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LCSW, etc.)
  • 1+ years of experience in applied sport psychology or mental performance coaching
  • Experience providing culturally responsive services to diverse populations
  • Strong communicator and collaborator who thrives in a team-focused, high-performance environment
  • Flexible and adaptable—able to work nontraditional hours as needed (evenings/weekends)
  • CMPC certification preferred (or willingness to pursue)

Why Join Premier?

At Premier Sport Psychology, you’ll be part of a mission-driven, multidisciplinary team working with youth athletes, Olympians, pro teams, and high-achieving professionals. We’re passionate about mental health, peak performance, and helping people live with purpose and confidence. Our culture is high-energy, supportive, and constantly evolving—and we’re growing fast.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $70,000 – $85,000/year (based on experience, licensure, and credentials)
  • Full benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and professional development opportunities
  • Access to internal and external continuing education and team collaboration
  • The opportunity to work in a respected and rapidly expanding field with a strong referral network
