About BRAVE Books

At BRAVE Books, we create faith- and values-based stories, TV shows, games, and resources that equip families to raise the next generation of courageous, truth-filled leaders. We publish bold, meaningful content every month—from picture books and graphic novels to TV series and more—all designed to captivate children and support parents in the battle for their kids’ hearts and minds.

About BRAVE Culture

At BRAVE Books, we’ve built a team of reliable, relentless high-performers who are loyal to the mission, driven to win, and selfless in execution. We hire individuals who show up hungry, take ownership, and grind with consistency — the kind of people who carry more than their share without needing the spotlight.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a driven, highly organized Graphic Designer who is eager to grow, learn quickly, and take ownership of creative execution across BRAVE Books’ product line. This role is essential to the production of our books and products, helping translate creative vision into clean, compelling, and print-ready designs.

Beyond technical skill, the ideal candidate possesses a strong creative instinct and eye for design, an often unquantifiable ability to recognize what looks right, feels balanced, and communicates clearly to our audience. This role requires someone who can apply design principles with intention, make thoughtful visual decisions, and uphold a high creative standard even when direction is minimal.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Books and Director of Product Development to design book layouts, packaging, and a variety of internal design needs. The right candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, in-office environment while remaining mission-first in execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and execute cover layouts for children’s books and related products
  • Complete interior text and book layouts with accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare print-ready files that meet production and publishing specifications
  • Design product packaging and supporting assets as needed
  • Implement revisions and feedback efficiently while maintaining design quality
  • Maintain organized project files and follow established brand guidelines
  • Collaborate with product, editorial, and marketing teams to meet deadlines
  • Support various interdepartmental design needs as assigned
  • Assist with quality control and pre-press checks to ensure accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to take direction, apply feedback, and iterate quickly
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and accountable for deliverables
  • Alignment with BRAVE Books’ mission and values

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with Monday.com or similar project management tools
  • Experience working within Google Drive and shared file systems
  • Experience with print production or publishing workflows
  • Understanding of brand consistency across products
  • Prior internship, freelance, or portfolio work demonstrating layout and production design

Brave Books offers a competitive salary and regular additional incentives. Full-time employees will be eligible for a benefits package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, PTO, and employee discounts.

We thank all applicants for their interest.
