Salary: $29.04 /hour
Job Summary:
The grant writer will be responsible for creating written proposals to secure funding from various sources, such as government agencies, foundations, corporations, or nonprofit organizations. The primary responsibility for this position is to develop persuasive grant proposals that effectively communicate the goals, objectives, and impact of a project or program to potential funders. This position will require you to work alongside directors, project managers, and other staff to create work plans and budgets for grant submissions with the Seneca Nation Departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A bachelors degree in a relevant field such as English, Communications, Nonprofit management, or a related discipline or a written sample of work can be submitted in lieu of a B.A. Preferred two to three years of related grant writing or budgeting experience. Excellent research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities and evaluate their alignment with organizational goals. Proficiency in grant writing techniques, including proposal development, budgeting, and reporting. Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines consistently. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel to both territories when necessary. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must have competent technological skills and specifically be able to work with MS Office 365 Suite for editing and productivity. Must have the ability to work in a diverse cultural environment. Knowledge of Seneca customs, traditions, and practices is helpful. Strong organizational skills and the ability to understand and manage high-profile, sensitive, or controversial projects. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work independently. Valid NYS Drivers License.
