General Manager
The General Manager (GM) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple locations. Responsible for ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, compliance, and employee development in the various departments. Drives group targets through disciplined planning, accountability, and adherence to company standards. They ensure that all departments work efficiently and effectively towards common goals
We are looking for a General Manager who can leverage those assets and take our teams and culture forward continuing to gain market share.
The GM is responsible for ensuring that the company is profitable and running smoothly, and for making strategic decisions to improve its performance. Some of their specific responsibilities may include managing budgets, developing marketing strategies, hiring and training staff, and maintaining relationships with customers. The successful candidate would have a successful track record of strong leadership and business management skills in the automotive industry.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Manages All Department’s to a safe, environmentally sound, and reliable operation
· Manages the execution of all department’s activities
· Manages budgets, projections and profitability
· Manages the resolution of maintenance reliability issues
· Achieve Monthly, Quarterly/Yearly profitability targets
· Maintain full P&L responsibility for group operations
· Monitor KPIs: sales volume, gross profit, net profit, labor hours, absorption, CSI/FI scores, inventory turns, WIP, aging AR
· Optimize gross and net profit margins while maintaining strong customer retention
· Control Expense to budget: Oversee expense control, inventory management, aged vehicle strategy, and floorplan utilization
· Implement policy and process consistency across locations (fixed ops, sales, warranty, compliance)
o Recruit, train, and retain high-performing leadership and operational staff
o Lead GM/Directors weekly leadership meetings and monthly All-Hands updates
o Implement performance reviews, coaching, incentive programs and succession planning
· Customer relations by providing product and service information
· Ability to resolve customer issues and service problems
· Perform other duties or assignments as assigned
· May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and travel to other locations
Essential Qualifications:
· Eight (8) years of General Manager Experience in the Automotive Industry
· Advanced ability to lead and direct a large interdisciplinary work force
· Ability to maintain budgets and profitability
· Strong interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills
· Advanced reading and writing skills
· Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations
· Strategic and financial modeling and planning/analysis
· Results driven leader who can produce consistent results through others
· Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word and Excel software
· Self-motivated with the desire to drive the business to success
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
