About The Role The Fleet Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and direction to the engineering staff, operating to the highest standards, in achieving vessel on-time arrival. This includes achieving efficient and thorough execution of fleet maintenance and repairs, strict adherence to company safety policies, full compliance with regulatory and class rules, effective cost control, and personnel management. What You’ll Do Supervise a team of Port Engineers. Work within the confines of shipboard and shoreside collective bargaining agreements. Resolve engineering Nonconformity Reports (NCR). Complete Annual Performance Reviews for assigned Chief Engineers. Participate in the Matson Safety Committee and the Engine Officer Selection Committee. Manage financial elements including budget preparation, vendor contracts, and vessel modifications. Oversee vessel maintenance, compliance, and environmental stewardship. Provide regular activity reports and communicate effectively with stakeholders. You Have These Skills USCG Licensed Chief Engineer, Unlimited Motor Qualified in reading engineering and ship structural drawings. Project Management competency Strong writing, critical thinking, and presentation skills Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint And These Qualifications Licensed US Coast Guard Chief Engineer, Unlimited Motor with seagoing experience in senior officer positions. Containership Technical manager experience. Knowledge of marine maintenance, shipyard operations, and various engine and system operations. Extra Credit If You Have Marine Engineering degree or US Coast Guard license with sailing experience. Ability to travel as required. Physical Requirements Sitting, walking, standing for up to 60 minutes per hour. Ability to lift up to 10 lbs and perform physical activities such as climbing, stooping, and crawling.
