Sodexo's Campus Segment is seeking an Executive Chef 2 to lead the Catering Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) , a private research university in Troy, NY. This role requires a hands-on culinarian with strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to deliver both high-volume production and elevated, VIP-level cuisine. The Executive Chef will oversee all on- and off-campus catering operations, collaborate with campus partners, and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the culinary operations for all catering events, from large-scale productions to intimate, high-end dinners.

  • Design and execute custom menus that reflect creativity, quality, and precision.

  • Manage purchasing, inventory, food cost analysis, and production forecasting .

  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo culinary standards , recipes, and food quality expectations.

  • Oversee food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

  • Develop, train, and motivate the culinary team to achieve excellence and embrace innovation.

  • Partner in menu planning, labor scheduling, and marketing initiatives .

  • Provide an exceptional customer service experience to students, faculty, and VIP guests.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
