Estimator - High-End Residential, Educational

Established (40+ Years) Employee-Owned GC Seeking Estimator for High-End Residential OR School Projects in Ventura, CA

 

An established, employee-owned General Contractor based in Ventura with over 40 years in practice is seeking an Estimator with 5+ years of experience focused on high-end residential construction OR school projects . The firm currently has two active school projects in Santa Barbara and continues to deliver ground-up and tenant improvement work in both commercial and residential sectors. This position will be 90% office-based and 10% job site .

 

Offer:

Salary between $120k - $140k+ depending on experience

Qualifications:

Minimum of five years of estimating experience in high-end residential OR school projects

Associate's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (Plus)

Experience with tenant improvement and ground up projects

Proficiency in takeoff software such as Smartsheet, AutoDesk, Procore, and Bluebeam is required

Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are essential

Experience with Gantt chart

 

Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate and detailed takeoffs using industry-standard software

Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates

Obtain competitive bids and manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

Create project budgets and track expenditures to ensure profitability

Maintain comprehensive project documentation and generate reports as required

Review and analyze contract documents to ensure alignment with estimates and project scopes
