REQUIREMENTS: - Must complete a fingerprint/background screening
- Upon hire the following trainings will need to be completed: CPR/AED/First Aid, Medication Administration, Universal Precautions, Seizure Recognition, Diabetic Care, Anaphylaxis, Allergic Reactions, Asthma Recognition, Signs of Head Injury
- Ability to type and proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite

JOB DESCRIPTION: The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide basic first aid and healthcare to students and staff in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Administer medication to students as prescribed, following parental authorization and doctor's orders.
- Monitor and assess students for symptoms of illness or injury and determine if they should be referred to a school nurse or medical professional.
- Document health office visits, interventions, and outcomes.
- Assist the school nurse in conducting health screenings such as vision, hearing, and scoliosis checks.
- Record and track student health screening results, informing the nurse and parents of any concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with the student's medical plan and parental permission, including inhalers, EpiPens, and other routine medications.
- Maintain accurate records of medications administered and ensure proper storage of medications.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date and accurate student health records, including immunization records, health screenings, and emergency contact information.
- Follow up on missing or incomplete health forms or immunization records.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student health concerns or incidents.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, parents, and healthcare providers as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency health protocols.
- Participate in emergency drills and be prepared to provide assistance during school emergencies.
- Assist with clerical tasks such as filing, record-keeping, ordering medical supplies, and updating student health records.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the health office.
- Ensure that all health services are provided in accordance with state laws, district policies, and best practices in student health and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: - Work is primarily performed in a school health office setting.
- May involve exposure to illnesses and infectious diseases.
- Must be able to respond quickly in emergencies.
- May require lifting and moving of equipment and students in emergency situations.
- Prolonged standing, walking, and sitting may be required.
- Must be able to assist students with mobility issues and medical needs.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 173 day calendar
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt Classified
