RSi is looking to fill a Manager I or II position to support our NASA customer. Summary of duties follows.

This position can be filled as either a Manager I or II Level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

The Department Manager provides operational support for maintenance, modification, refurbishment, test buildup, test operations, and fabrication support of facility capabilities required to accomplish MSFC/NASA Test Lab missions. The Manager ensures the technical excellence, cost effectiveness, and timeliness of all required work and deliverable products, and strives to establish, within METTS, a culture of caring and developing our workforce with a cadence of disciplined execution and accountability .

• Provides supervision and management of the activities and staff for the Structural Strength Test Facility, Structural Dynamics Test Facility, Environmental Test Facility, Experimental Fluid Dynamics Test Facility.
• Responsible for overall unit performance within budgetary and schedule guidelines.
• Identifies and recommends objectives and scope of technical projects and communicates goals, scope, approaches, and
  schedules to assign personnel.
• Ensures that the METTS technician workforce are properly certified to the appropriate MSFC standards prior to conducting any work for center-wide job functions (e.g., crane operator, fork truck operator).
• Performs administrative functions such as approving time sheets, hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
• Establishes budgets, forecasts manpower, equipment, and supply needs.

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required. In lieu of a degree, candidates with more than five years of relevant experience will be considered

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

• Graduate studies in related field of study are desired.

Physical Environment (outside, inside, heights, stairs etc) /Requirements (lifting, heights, bending etc):

• Stairs, Heights, lifting, bending required with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Other : Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements.

Applicants for positions which require a US government security clearance must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
