ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collaborates with employees concerning work orders, prints, and sketches to understand the structure that needs to be built or repaired.

  • Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements for each job.
  • Builds, dismantles, and repairs structures, walls, roofs, glass, and siding as assigned.
  • Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
  • Prepares and dismantles scaffolding as needed.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
  • Performs sanding and surface preparation as required.
  • May perform painting as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter
  • Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and plans.
  • Able to use and read a tape measure.
  • Knowledge with CNC routers desired.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
  • Good understanding of basic math
  • High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to heavy.
  • The temperature will vary from hot to cold depending on the weather.
  • Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required, depending on tasks being performed.
