Business Analyst

6-Month Contract to Hire

Location : Remote (Preferably in the Eastern Timezone, specifically Cincinnati, OH)

Pay: $50-57/hr

Interview Process: 1 & done panel interview with hiring manager and team leaders

General Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst (BA) with a background working in an Insurance or Financial space. This remote contractor role will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to define requirements, improve processes, and support system initiatives, with a focus on claims processing and policy administration systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for insurance claims and policy systems.
• Partner with stakeholders across business units to define solutions that meet regulatory, technical, and operational needs.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
• Conduct gap analyses, process modeling, and impact assessments.
• Support the implementation and enhancement of core systems, particularly Guidewire.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and cross-functional meetings.
• Assist with testing, UAT coordination, and post-implementation reviews.
• Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3+ years in a Business Analysis role:
• Proficient in BA tools and techniques (e.g., process modeling, use cases, traceability matrices, JIRA, Confluence, SQL)
• Property & Claims Insurance Background or Accounting Background
• CBAP certification preferred
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
