Assistant Sous Chef – Join Our Culinary Team!

We are seeking a talented and motivated Assistant Sous Chef to support our kitchen leadership team in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of both culinary excellence and strong operational management.

As the Assistant Sous Chef , you’ll work closely with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the back of house while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising daily BOH operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Support and help manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships.
• Monitor and control food costs and labor costs to align with budget goals.
• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
• Assist in scheduling, training, and delegating responsibilities to BOH staff.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture with coaching and development.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a culinary leadership role (Lead Line Cook, Kitchen Supervisor, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of food and labor controls, BOH operations, and inventory management .
• Solid understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation regulations.
• Leadership skills with the ability to train, delegate, and motivate staff.
• A passion for culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
