Position Overview Assistant Athletics Director - Annual Fund will serve as the primary major and planned‑gifts revenue‑generation officer for the North Carolina A&T State University athletics department and the Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF). The incumbent will lead the development and implementation of long‑term strategic plans, programs, and initiatives to enhance and maintain the financial stability of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including a central role in the development and execution of a capital campaign. Primary Function of the Unit The Intercollegiate Athletics Department supports the university mission by fostering academic excellence for student‑athletes and upholding competitive excellence, sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and amateurism. It complies with all conference and association rules and ensures equal opportunity for all students and staff in accordance with federal and university policy. Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, with related professional experience.
• Experience in development with a nonprofit or higher‑education institution preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within teams, meet ambitious goals, and interact effectively with alumni, friends, faculty, and staff in a research‑university setting.
• Willingness to travel and work weekends.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Seven years or more of related experience. Experience securing major gifts, including frontline fundraising, financial advising, and estate planning. Strategic, entrepreneurial, and innovative approach to fundraising. Knowledge of contemporary philanthropy and the vehicles available to individuals to achieve their philanthropic goals. Strong self‑motivation and ability to work independently and collaboratively. Capacity to communicate with a wide variety of individuals and inspire them to support a broad range of athletic programs. Understanding of complex, comprehensive institutions and appreciation for diverse audiences and communities.
