Position Overview

The Ramp Agent plays a crucial role in managing the loading and unloading of passenger baggage, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and handled with care. This position also emphasizes the importance of safety and teamwork, ensuring that flights are on schedule. If you enjoy physical work and being outdoors, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
  • Load, stow, and unload all cargo and baggage according to flight loading plans.
  • Handle the pick-up and delivery of cargo, including mail, express items, baggage, freight, and supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary documentation related to tasks performed.
  • Clean aircraft baggage areas and surrounding workspaces.
  • Operate automotive equipment related to job duties, following proper training.
  • Insert and remove chocks and safety lines as needed.
  • In the absence of mechanical personnel, may be responsible for receiving and dispatching aircraft.
  • May also assist with cleaning duties, limited to office areas and aircraft, as required by service needs.
Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Capability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp as necessary.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and lifting heavy baggage overhead frequently.
  • Possession of a valid, unexpired driver’s license from a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification.
  • Ability to secure airport security clearance.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on an airport ramp.
  • Background in physical labor or warehouse environments.
