Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with an Accounts Payable focus to join their growing team. This role will be responsible for supporting daily cash accounting activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting with payroll processing. While QuickBooks and/or construction industry experience is a plus, the client is open to training motivated candidates with a strong accounting foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cash accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP.
• Process vendor invoices, match POs, and manage AP cycle through to payment.
• Reconcile bank accounts and assist with general ledger entries as needed.
• Support preparation of financial reports and month-end close activities.
• Partner with a 3rd-party payroll provider to process payroll on a recurring basis.
• Assist with additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 1–3 years of accounting or finance experience, with an emphasis in Accounts Payable.
• Strong understanding of cash accounting and GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting software; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Construction industry accounting experience preferred, but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
