St James the Greater Catholic Church in Hopewell, Virginia is seeking a skilled and dedicated Accompanist to support our parish's English music ministry. The accompanist will provide instrumental accompaniment - typically on piano or organ - for weekend liturgies, rehearsals, and parish celebrations.

Working in collaboration with the Choir Director and under the direction of the Pastor/Administrator, the accompanist helps foster reverent, joyful, and participatory worship in keeping with the liturgical traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in piano and/or organ accompaniment
• Experience accompanying choirs and congregational singing
• Familiarity with Catholic liturgical music and worship
• Ability to read music and adapt to choir and liturgical needs
• Willingness to collaborate and serve within a parish community.

• Hours and Compensation:

This is a part-time position averaging approximately 6 hours per week. Hours will vary based on rehearsals, Mass schedules, and special liturgical celebrations.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and diocesan guidelines.
